We towed our 35 ft alpenlite that weighs 14380 loaded for a winter's visit of 6 months with a 2001 3500 2wd chev dually and the 8.1 gas engine. It was very good and no problems. Not as fast up the mountains but fast to make us happy. It had the 4:10 rear end so my thinking is a Ford with the 6.2 and low rear gear would work very nice for 12000 lbs. I did talk to a new owner of this engine during the first months it came out and he was pulling a Teton fifthwheel and was slower than his previous ford but he was really liking the engine.
