When you switch from Diesel to gas vechicle do you find yourself waiting for the glow plugs to warm up?
Looks like people didn't read your question. You're getting a bunch of answers about how quickly their oil burners start. :B
To answer, yes nearly every time I drive my wife's Camry, I find myself waiting for the grid heater light to go off! :S:S:S:o
To answer the question, After a few starts forgetting to wait for the heater grid "wait to start" light to go out, I started firing the Cummins up as soon as I heard the lift pump stop on the 24 v and no wait on the mechanical 12v. Never had any trouble. However, to this day I still give it a couple of seconds for the lift pump to shut off even with the gassers. The other habit that creeps up every now and again is a left foot reach for the clutch that's not there.
I tried to talk my bride into a Camry. Most comfortable car I've driven was a rental Camry LE in Seattle.
