So the ad says one owner on car Gurus, but the Carfax says it has had 4 owners. The first 2 were commercial in Quebec and tallied up all the mileage. The 3rd owner was a consumer in Quebec - or some kind of auction dealer, and then a dealer here in VA - I assume traded at auction from Canada to Va. Is that something to be concerned about?
Read an article about this not long ago, because of the very favorable exchange rate, wholesale buyers in the US buy vehciles in Canada and export them to the US. Even with the costs of exporting and converting the odometer and speedometer to miles from kilometers, it is profitable.
That is not a vehicle I would buy. I prefer to purchase a factory certified (not some hokey dealer certification) with the extended factory warranty the certified vehicle provides.
There are two limitations I see,
First is the four previous owners, that is a lot for a 5 year old truck with 60k moles.
Second is the 11,300# GVWR a bit limiting for 5er.
The mileage is almost solely from the first owner. Subsequent owners appear to be auction houses. I may be making a poor assumption that any F350 older than 2015 with a Fifth wheel hookup puts it at 18k. Am I incorrect? maybe I am looking at the wrong truck.
18,000# is what it can pull, not what it can carry, GVWR at 11,300# and rear axle at
6,290# and 17” tires at 3,195# ea. are the limits. I didn’t see the payload sticker but likely about 3,200# if I put my 32’ 13,600# 5er with 2,800# pin on that I would have 400# left for passengers and stuff.
