I like thinking outside the box and I had a brain fart earlier today.. Instead of using HappyJac turnbuckles or Fast Guns, why not use ratchet straps instead? Certainly easier to put on and off,...

Are you saying that some folks do not look in their mirrors on a regular basis? Thinking about all the good drivers on the road, I think this must be the norm.
Maybe there should be a separate thread about the bad habits some drivers have that our posters have witnessed over the years. Most folks could relate to that topic.
Anyway, I did not realize that TCs used to come with ratchet strap tie downs when they first came out. I am sure a good quality strap would serve your needs for many years.
