Tie downs for Ram 3500 Duelly

We purchased a water damaged 2003 Travel Lite Mountain Star for a once in a life time Alaska trip. We have finally finished the restorations and are ready to load it up.

According to Torklift the parts are D-2120 for the front and D-3109 for the rear. ($688) for both. They also said we may need an extender A-7004 which is another $340.

We have a 2012 Ram 3500 Duelly Laramie Longhorn. Has anyone out there with the same vehicle that has installed tie downs and if you did, did you needed the extender?

Comments and recommendations are appreciated.
  • From E-trailer.com:
Adapter kit will most likely be needed if the distance between the front bumper of your camper and the center of the rear anchor point is less than 90"

I personally would not buy the adapter kit until I knew I needed it.
The only way to know is to install the basic kit and see if the tie downs hit your dually fenders.
  • Torklift told me to just drill another hole in the extensions 1 inch farther back. No problem. I did.
  • I use a extra 2x6 board in the front of the truck bed. With the camper sitting a little further back I have more clearance between my tie downs and the dually fender. It also gives my a little room in the front of the bed for things like wood blocks and my water hoses. I did put some pipe insulation around my Fast gun tie downs just in case. My truck is a 2003 but Torklift said I might need the tie downs too.
