What is the difference between the OP's 2500 and a 3500 of the same generation.
On the third generation Dodges the only difference was two small rear helper springs and their bumper rubbers that engaged when fully loaded.
If that is the case here, he almost has a 3500 now.
Axles, wheels, brakes, front suspension etc were all the same.
Make sure the tires will hold the load and go.
