Time to Replace the Battery - Recommendations?
The last time out, I noticed that the lights were a bit dim when runningon battery power - I checked the battery level and it was showing only one red dot on the meter (2007 Jayco 23B). Well, we're getting ready for our first trip of 2014 and I had the battery checked at three places - all three said it was bad. SO, I need a new deep cycle battery.
My exisitng battery came new with the camper when we bought it in 2009; it's lasted 4.5 years. It's a 12V Deka DP24 with 23 amp rating of 140 minutes.
So, what have you folks found to be reliable, cost effective RV batteries? What are some to avoid? Do I need the exact same size? I'm thinking that I can go to a different group size as long as it fits in my battery box, right?
Thanks for the guidance.
God bless.
