Tiny Truck Camper or maybe not.

My rig sure looks tiny. DW has the daughter and grandkids over camping after a weekend of the state swim meet while I pet sit. Any way, it's looks really small considering it's a F450 with a double slide TC. ;). Splurging at the KOA after two days of camping near the pool.

  • looks like a lot of bucks to me. nice rig, bet it ain,t to small when your washing it. looks to be a nice camp grounds as well.
  • I took a pic of the Blue Angels yesterday. The planes looked REALLY small….but they were like 5 miles away and 5000’ in the air.
    What’s your point?
  • That's a sweet setup! I really love ours. Only thing I miss from our previous sprinter chassis C is the ability to drive then sleep without getting out of the vehicle. Having the much quieter cab and the occasional use of just the truck makes the truck camper my all time favorite travel rig. Plus the F450 with the nice turning radius is easy to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Personally I have three modes of camping: boondocking, with tent campers (in unimproved sites/areas) and with other RV's.

It is only the latter where generally I'm the only truck/camper in the loop (or entire campground) and my rig is dwarfed by others monster setups!

  • Love KOA's, Never once had a bad experience. I was next to some bad people a couple of times but the parks have always been five stars in my world. Always clean, well manicured and staffed well. It doesn't look small to me!

It’s actually a pretty cool picture. Looks like it came out of an Ad. Great lookin combo.
  • Thanks for the nice comments and compliments.

Fwiw, my wife had a great free spot at the swim meet because the combo was small enough to fit where most of the other RVs could not. They were happy to have the furnace considering the high was in the 50s with rain. No, I'm not saying C. 50s F was the temp. :). When we bought the TC in '06, the bunk bed was a bonus for the model they had on the lot. Fast forward years later, and we have been using the bunk bed every time the grandkids come. They slept 5 pretty well, and we've slept 6 when I'm along.

I don't know for sure what kind of rig fills that pull through. Maybe a pickup with large fiver or maybe a 45 ft Class A. I just thought it was funny how much length was still available. For reference my rig with TC is about 25 ft.
