I replace tires on my truck about every 2 to 2 1/2 years. Yes, I do a lot of driving. My driving is a good mix of unloaded highway miles and towing. By far, the most consistent and best performing tire I've used are Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's. In fact, this is the only tire I'm interested in purchasing these days. I have consistently been able to get 70K to 80K miles on these tires when properly rotated and maintained. In my experience, they remain stable and comfortable, good traction, throughout their life, or until about the last 5,000 miles or so. I currently have them on both my chevy 1/2 ton truck and my ford 1 ton truck.
A few years back, money was a little tight, so I skimped and went with Goodyear Wrangler AT's on my 1/2 ton. These were great tires for the first 10-15K miles. After that, they went down hill pretty quick. At about 35K to 40K miles, they began hydroplaning from time to time, which only got worse. When they had about 50K miles on them, I nearly lost control one day about a mile from my house due to hydroplaning. Within a few days, I went down and had new Bridgestone Duelers installed. At that time, I felt that those tires only had about 5K miles left of them anyway. The store manager, whom I've gotten to know fairly well, told me that those tires just don't last over the long term. They're good for getting into a comfortable set of tires for less money, but their quality degrades quickly.
So there you have it. Bridgestone Duelers for me!!
