Tire flex

2015 F350 crew cab 4x4 srw 275/65/R20 with the 6.7.. towing my fifthwheel at 15k loaded.. just switched tires and getting a TON of tread/lug flex . .

Truck never had this before the new tires.. talked to the alignment shop, had the front end aligned ( wheel was pointing to 2 oclock going straight) The ownwer had the same exact tires Nitto Terra Grappler G2 and said he had the same problem . .

Any brand in particular I should look for? tire guy is telling me Sumitoma gets great reviews... I had Michelin on and could not wait to remove them.

    I switched to Michelins to get rid of the sidewall flex.

    Check the pressure. The tire shop had my tires at 60PSI, I had specifically asked for 80PSI. All 6 tires were at 60, it felt a lot better with them at 80PSI.

    More than likely "tire squirm." Different than flex. Mine took about a thousand miles to break in. Now they are fine.

    I have just about 1940 miles on them to date...I have not experienced the issue before these tires, same truck, different tires and it was night and day difference

    SAME thing happened to me.
    Class C MH rode like a limo until the day I decided to treat her to brand new tires. :(

    I put new Michelin's on and immediately the front end was ALL over!

    Truck driver mechanic where I took it in to check the front end showed me how much that outer tread moved using just 2 of his fingers. I though I'd die when I saw how easy he could move that tread back and forth.

    Too aggressive tread on the tires. They were flexing all over the place.

    Hence forth why if you look at semi tires the outer tread is flat.

    What pressure are you running them at?

    I run 60# front tires ALL the time......towing 14K 5vr or not towing
    Get at least 60K out of the Michelins and I rarely rotate tires.

    Agreed... Year ago I purchased my second set of BF Goodrich KO tires and they suffered from tire squirm like crazy, but the issue went away after a few thousand miles. The previous set of the same tires didn't have that problem.

    I just put a set of BFG KO2s on my truck less than a thousand miles ago and I'm getting some squirm although it's less than it was initially and not too bad. They are more aggressive than the OEM **** so I'd expect a little more squirm for that reason too.
