I always go with the manufacturer's recommended tire pressures for their vehicles. They know what load forces are involved both static and dynamic (at 65 MPH in 110 degree heat with a full payload). The tire manufacturers provide charts that show the load a tire can handle at a given pressure without breaking the bead contact with the rim. It is not something to be used to determine the tire pressure for a specific vehicle.
If at the truck manufacturer's recommended PSI you see uneven treat wear then you have factual information to rely on to increase or decrease tire pressures. Without this information and relying on tire tables you are very likely to under inflate your tires which makes them run hotter and reduces handling and tread life.
