Yep, they probably really are rated for 65mph, and also probably are rated for the GVWR of the trailer minus tongue weight (in other words - for many trailers, but not all - it also wouldn't have been hard to overload them).
IMO, if you run 5 mph (or more) below their speed rating and 15 percent (or more) below their weight rating, just about any brand will do. Getting under the ratings can mean needing to upgrade to a larger diameter and load range.
