Tires

I run the Nitto Dura Grappler on my dually and really like them. There are many good tires out there now and not saying Mich isn't a good tire but you really don't have to spend Mich money to get a good tire.

You didnt mention which Nitto, I would assume for your TV it would be the Dura or the Terra Grappler... If the Terra ask for the G2, it will replace the old model and the G2 comes with a mileage warranty.

Good but on the high end cost wise. There are lots of good choices starting with Commercial TA, thru Firestone Transforce to Michelin. Let google be your friend. Web sites like Discount tire and Tire Rack can be very informative and have customer reviews. Read them and then decide what is best for the money in your mind. You might also look at Hankook tires. They constantly get good reviews and offer attractive prices.

I just re-shoe'd my 1-ton SRW with Hankook Dynapro ATM tires. So far good but they really have not been put to the test yet. Priorities for me are load rated E along with good traction on less than desirable road conditions; i.e. snow/ice. I just went from Toyo Open Country M/S to Michelin M/S 2+,Great traction! They are really great on wet roads. I currently don't have the spin issues I had with the Toyos taking off on wet pavement their grip is great!

Aren't Toyo and Nitto made by the same company?????

I have 12,000 mi on a set of Made in the USA Nitto Crosstecs on my PU. Liking them so far.

I have Toyos on other rigs and I'm happy with them.

I've had the Dynapro ATM's for 30K+ miles, and while they've been great tires, they have been getting noisier as they get more wear. That is the only drawback I have found to these tires, otherwise, they've been great in every other aspect; stability, rain, snow, mud and dirt. But I'm not sure if I will get them again due to the increasing noise... I'm hoping they come out with a new version that's quieter before I have to get new tires again.

No first hand experience with Nitto's, but I have a good friend that had them on his 2005 Ram 3500 and got TERRIBLE mileage out of them. If I remember right, they lasted less than 25,000 miles. This friend is terribly hard on everything he owns, but his experience was enough to make me think twice.

I had Hankook's on my 03 before I sold it. I put around 2000 miles on them, and if I was going to keep the truck, I would have gotten rid of the tires. They wandered terribly, especially under load.

My truck has about 37,000 miles on the OEM tires. Will be replacing the fronts next spring, and will likely go to Michellin. I have had the best luck with them in the past.

I have a good friend who ran the Terra Grappler on his 2500, he said they got loud after he put some miles on them. I like the new Terra Grappler G2, they look very impressive.
