Greetings, Here is an article on the Gas Titan XD from TFL. Key part is that the Gas version will have about 500 lbs more payload. And the motor is all aluminum alloy... Link Thanks...

I think you are right...it's going to be a wash from a payload perspective but the Titan XD may 'feel' more stable towing due to the heft of the vehicle.
Reminds me of my Father In Laws 1999 F250 PSD 4x4...I believe it had less than 2,000 lbs of payload. But towing with it compared to a F150 was much different experience despite the trucks being a few hundred lbs different in payload.
