For us, it also came down to the 1165 or Mammoth, so we went through same plus and minus of each model and brand.
The EC is half a foot wider and also has deeper slides than the Host. The EC uses a higher gloss thicker laminate exterior which adds to some of its weight.
The Host has better access to the basement storage with the slide tray and batteries mounted in the rear wing. You can get a wider rear slide on the Host by choosing the Everest model, but the rest of layout may not be what you want.
