So another reason that my 2" receiver is higher in the air is because of the contour of the front of my camper. I suppose I could have had the portion of the flat plate hanging over the front of the 2.5" tubing and gusseted on the front side, but I wanted to keep everything as far back as possible. That being said, I did modify the bike rack by cutting 10 inches out of the upright post. If you build one of these check that you have the clearance for the 2" receiver portion at the correct height for your bike rack. i.e. The bike rack bolted to mine would be very short in any other regular application. I also cut the bottom plug in piece of the bike rack shorter so it would sit flush against the A-framed rack I built.
