Major bummer, but the bright side is you are OK and the stuff is replaceable. You aren't!

We hit a patch of pure ice. Couldn't see it until we were on top of it. I do remember feeling the truck not responding to steering and then out of my side view mirror I saw the trailer coming around me. Threw my 3/4 Ton Megacab Diesel like it was a Honda.

Then it was just bang- bang- bang. State Police shut down I-75 due to 8 accidents within a mile of us. The pathetic part was that 2 hours later the road was fine. If I would have waited & stayed off the snowy road I would be writing this from Ft. Myers not Michigan.

Oh well- so be it.

My TT gets parked 31 oct and doesn't come out until 15 apr

Thanks for the warning and the sharing!! You will save many others from the same. It's been a tough year. My son banged up his new Subaru in a snow storm. Was without if for the past 3 weeks. Just got it back.

Just curious what was your opinion of towing in snow before the accident. There have been several threads on this subject in the forum and your a senior member. I'm glad everyone is ok, TT and truck can be replaced.

So sorry to hear of your accident Bill! Glad that no one was seriously injured though. Trailers and trucks can be replaced but lives cannot.

Thank you for your post also! It should make a good warning to others about towing in conditions like you faced. That is one of the reasons that I bring our trailer down to Tampa in late October, leave it here and then fly home after a week or two only to fly back with my wife right after Christmas. I did the tow down right after Christmas thing for quite a few years and always was lucky that we did not have bad conditions. A couple of times we had to wait a day or two after our planned departure though. It was always a big worry. It is worth it to us to pay for a few unused weeks in order to not have to worry about the weather and towing.

Glad you are safe, and around to RV again sometime soon I hope. :)

I've been in the truck, on ice, when a trailer rolls over. It is no fun. Luckily, the truck stayed upright.

Good to see you are in enough good health to post about your experience. Sorry to hear about the event, though. Hope the Missus is OK.
