You want a truck to carry a family, dirt bikes in the back, and tow 7k? Forget the half ton and go straight to the 3/4, brand of your choice. You’ll be pushing or exceeding the half ton limits already and the kids/toys won’t get smaller.
Speaking from experience. Had a Tundra crewmax towing current tt at 7600lbs. Loved that truck and it pulled with ease (lots of power and 4.30 rear) but we always had to watch what we packed and were still over payload and near max on most other ratings.
