Get any gas 3/4 ton crew cab truck of similar vintage. It will comfortably out-tow and out-haul the half tons. Ford 6.2L, GM 6.0L, Ram 6.4L. No checking build data or finding old window stickers to find out if it has all the necessary towing equipment as all HD truck of this era do.
FWIW, Toyota's transmission gearing is taller, so that 4.30 axle is almost identical to Ford/GM with 3.73.
