A half ton truck would be a much better fit. You would be surprised how maneuverable a half ton crew cab with a 5.5 ft bed is.
I was on the fence between a midsize SUV and my SuperCrew PU truck. It's not even close. The cab is literally a cavern and is much more roomy compared to Any midsize SUV I have looked at. Plus I have about 700 lbs of payload MORE than a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Not the Cherokee is not a TV for a TT. The JGC is do-able but you do lose quite a bit of capability compared to a truck.
