Towing above 65
Currently out camping and on the way up I was getting past left and right by rv's. If you have a proper truck and change your trailer tires to LTs. Can trailers be safely towed in the 70 mph range. Thanks

What's not okay is to discard what witness's said/the truck driver and what the driver told the first ones there just because it wasn't in the report. That is calling first responders liars without having been there.. Guessing, not factual in any way.
I was told by first responders (firefighter extraction) what happened and what the driver said, those calling foul for whatever reason prove that wasn't the case. I know the area and that exact location, those crying have never been there or probably have never been to Central Idaho so... Drum roll.... They don't have a fricken clue!
I could really go into detail about the wreck/the carnage the difficulty life flight had landing in that terrain the victim that was transported to the local hospital and comments made to the EMT.. But I won't....
You are the one that posted the picture, and then the report. Neither of which back up what you are saying.
So all we really have is you saying that it is the truth... And you were not even there in person.
So it is a case of I knew a guy who had an uncle that had a teacher that talked to.....

That is not true. I would be classified as more in camp 2 but I do respect the opinion of those in camp 1. The problem and reason this thread has drug on is due to the fact an inaccurate use of an accident to support camp 1. It is not ok to use a picture of a fatal accident to play on ones emotions to persuade the other side when that accident had nothing to do their position.jaycocreek wrote:

Nowhere have you said just how fast he was going. Your report doesn't say anything about it as well.
But in your mind, you have been consistant up to now on blaming excess speed.... Now you state that more speed may have helped.
I will agree on one point. Speed is involved in most all accidents.
It is pretty hard to crash while parked.
But if he was passing the semi and clipped him with his TT when changing lanes as your report states, then the "excact speed" has nothing to do with your picture and report. The outcome in that area would've been pretty much the same no matter how fast he was going.
BTW, I think the jello has beeen nailed to the tree pretty good.
If I was you, I would delete that pic to keep from using it again in a weak moment.. But that's just me.:B- :) Hi, how about showing some respect and blanking out the peoples names before posting it on this forum. And don't give me that, public information, excuse either. :M

Just think, when a tire thread comes up you can recycle your picture countless times and blame ST tires or drunk driving or duel exhaust or miss-aimed headlights or any other topic you can think of on this wreck. :B You can get more mileage out of this picture then I got on my trailer.

My son responded to this one for fire department extraction.Unfortunately the driver of the 3/4 ton died later at the hospital.

What's the problem. Inexperience includes trying to pass a semi when he should not have and Inexperience is in my opinion what caused the wreck. I know I sure would not have done that. The fact remains that he was going faster than he should have been infact in this case even faster might have helped.
But the bottom line is he wrecked and an experienced person would not have done that. Another fact is anyone who had ever passed a semi pulling a trailer knows you have excelerate More than you would if you are not towing making speed a contributor to the wreck.
The fact he was in a 3/4 ton didn't save his bacon. The fact he tried to pass when he shouldn't have proves his Inexperience and he must have thought he could go "fast enough" to make it or he would not have done it.
Nothing I wrote in either post is contradictive.He was both inexperienced and going to fast trying to pass.

Driver wrecked because HE SCREWED UP..........period.
He did NOT clear front of semi BEFORE pulling back into lane after passing.....period.

Ummm...you said nothing about inexperience on this thread...you clearly said in this thread that this wreck was caused by speeding, pure and simple, nothing else.
