Not that heavy, 9000 ish lbs. was my load.
No problem for my old 99 F350 dually V10 with less than ideal 3.73 gears.
I prefer gas, will choose gas again most likely. Unless we are in the plus 14k lb range. 400 HP gassers are more than competent. Now most are 400 plus in tq. (GM still is under 400 HP but still seem to hold their own on the uphill runs on youtube) No worries. Push the pedal down and go.
Slower on hills is okay. Take it easy, a few minutes later up the hill is no problem. Gear down going down, its all good.
I Don’t want DEF, don’t want DPF, don’t want regen cooking pistons. Don’t want to be stranded on my vacation.
Just want simple. 8 or 10 thirsty cylinders. Leter rip tater-chip.
I didn’t own a diesel but my FIL did own a few and I have experience with them. These were older so I have no real world feedback vs the newer ones. They were slow and unreliable.
Thanks and good luck with your decision!
