Towing in the real world. gas or diesel

Gonna test your knowledge. Do you recall GM's old 6.2L diesel from the mid/late 80's? Obviously not the same 6.2 your talking about. Early 90's saw GM add a turbo to the 6.2 and it became a 6.5. Don't remember any stats on either engine. I had a '86 GMC Sierra Classic 6.2. Loved it. Was 1st brand new truck I owned.

Yup, had the 6.2 diesel in an '85 GMC 2500. Went about 200,000 before it died. Only issues were the confounded glow plug controllers. They seemed to only last about 75,000 miles and cost $60.00. Replaced three or four of them. And the noise when it was cold and until it warmed up the whole neighborhood knew you were running that diesel.
