OP, don't let your 6.4L PSD experience jade you on all diesels. I can relate; my last truck was a 6.0L PSD and I was a sour man for a while too. I made a change (see sig) almost 4 years ago and am a very happy camper! :B
All good there except that G56. Horrible experience with my previous 2005
What was wrong with it? Besides the junk OE clutch.
Dual mass fly wheel went out. With all the fixes out there to go to a single, I lost complete faith in it. Also heard a lot of ticking noises when in neutral. My opinion is that it is a weak trans for that Cummins.
SouthBend Clutch will fix your woes!
Depends. I had a 2010 that I bought used that had a Southbend dual disk in it and I hated it. It was the wrong clutch for the street. After further investigation the clutch that was in my truck was designed to be hooked to a sled put your right foot on the floor and let your left foot slip off the clutch. I thought sure I was going to take the driveshaft out a few times trying to back out of a tight parking spot. HAHA! Sounded like it had gravel in the trans when idling with the clutch out and every time you took off the clutch barked just like barking tires in second. LOL
