Just remember , no one leaves on a trip and says " I cant wait to make a panic stop " Or , " boy , today is a great day for an accident" I believe you are going to be pushing the limits of your tow vehicle . Running any vehicle at or above its maximum ratings at 60 mph for hours in the heat isnt the safest thing to do.
I had a similar situation where one of my neighbors has a ford f 150 , he was telling me about the trailer he was going to buy . It was similar in weight and size to my 30 ft sunset creek . I said , lets see how your truck handles it , hook up to mine and lets take a spin , and what a fun ride it was , his truck was too light for 8000 lbs . He still bought the trailer , and picked up a 3/4 ton van to pull it with .
