I agree that payload is an issue but perhaps not for camping, light work and a daily driver. As a work truck to carry heavy loads the F150 will not cut it. The Powerboost un particular suffers from payload limitations.
I cannot speak about the Ecoboost but the Powerboost has plenty of power to pull up 6% grades and I would say 9000 lbs trailer. I wouldn't go any higher. At some point it is not how much you can tow but how much what you tow can throw you around.
My biggest disappointment with the Powerboost is that they limited the gas tank to 30 gallons. You are stopping every 200 miles or less whether you like it or not...
