You have an antiquated 4 speed transmission. Gear swaps were more beneficial back then. 6 speed transmissions change everything. There is a lot more flexibility in the gearing now.
True, but the same rule applies to a 5,6 or 8 speed auto. each gear will effectively be that much better!
