Attitude adjustment is the cheapest. I'd love to go up Snoqualmie pass at 70 mph on cruise control. 45 is more realistic :) It bugs me, but the 40k not spent on a new truck sitting in 401(k) get me closer to early retirement. Buy her something nice, buy yourself something nice, pay down your highest interest rate loan. Opportunity cost!
Second choice would be to invest in that's proven to satisfy your requirements. Once you decided this definitely won't do, do not throw more money at your current truck. Trade in for a more capable truck.
