I think the Chevy 3500 HD Dually offers 13,025 GVWR and the 13' Ram 3500 dually has 14,000# GVWR....Both would be able to do the job well..Highest GCWR goes to the Ram 3500 Dually with 4:10.....As stated, forget the "dry" or "empty" weight, it's more or less, a joke. Use the units GVW and go from there...also I would figure 20% of the 5er's GVW to get a better idea on what your pin weight might be....
You're on the right track, you WILL need a dually...
Also if you don't get a 3500 HD with the "Aisin" transmission, there is nothing wrong with the 68RFE, I've towed sig. 5er all through the mountains and never had the first issue with the regular 6 speed auto....
..........one thing that WILL impress you , should you choose to buy the Ram, will be the exhaust brake...SON.....you will be blown away with it's braking power alone...impressive to say the least....
