My 2007 had all original injectors with 5500 hours on it (@ 110,000 miles) when I sold it. Regular fuel filter changes are the key to making any diesel injector last - well, except the LB7 Duramax injectors.
Perhaps RAM improved their filters by 07, but I'm not sure. I'm told it's more of the pilot injection that's the cause of these injector failures.

I always used the Fleetgaurd stratopore fuel (and oil) filters which were 7 micron IIRC. The one in the link with the failed injector has 331,xxx Kms showing on the odometer. That's over 200,000 miles. I'd say the injectors might need replacing after that many miles. And, you never know how often the filter was changed in that truck. :)
My buddy (who now has a 2014 RAM 1500) had an 04 Duramax (LB7). When he sold it, it had 120,000 miles on it, and had 2/8 failed injectors. GM paid for the first set at 55,000 miles. Buddy used additive every tank and changed his fuel filter every second oil change - didn't seem to extend the injector life in his case.
Which makes me believe the increase in injector activity with the pilot injection could be causing additional wear on injectors. :)
