Tranny fluid change
Got 70,000 miles on the current ATF oil, so today it and the spin-on filter got changed. I also dropped the pan to see if there was any sludge and it was clean. Love this Duramax/Allison combo.

The "YET" part is what scares me. If the filter says tighten a certain amount after contact I do so. Honestly if a filter can be removed by hand after 5-15,000 miles that is loose IMHO.

If anyone has figured out how to do a fluid exchange on an AISIN please post method. IMHO it's stupid to not remove all the fluid.

The Allison does come with a drain plug. I was just curious to see what was in the pan. Oh, and Allison does not recommend a fluid flush or exchange.

I’ve got the Ford TorqShift with the external bypass filter in a housing and it’s quite frozen. Couldn’t crack it loose with a 1/2” rachet and didn’t want to break something. Thinking about trying to use a filter wrench on the filter housing along with the rachet on the end nut. Any tips?
I haven't had that issue but I'd try using a 1/2" impact gun turned down a bit.
