Travel Trailer ground clearance

My wife and I are considering a Travel Trailer as our next RV. We can't help noticing the increased step-in height. I know in the past they were single and double step entry, but now three steps are common. Why.....

I'm also not a big fan of the increased center of gravity.

Can these axles be flipped as was done in the past.?

    My TT came with a two-step entry and I replaced it with a 3 step unit because I got tired of hauling my big butt up 2-12 inch steps and found the 3-8 inch steps easier to navigate. My guess is that they are all essentially two feet off the ground, it's just a question of 8 inch steps vs 12 inch ones.

    But that's just a guess.
