- RavensFan24ExplorerI see no need to leave anything open while traveling. No one is in the trailer while traveling and if it's hot, it'll just be hot air blowing in there.

We accidentally left a sliding window open once. After that our mini-blinds had a not so nice crinkled look to them.
Same here. Some of the aluminum slats on our actually broke apart. It was left open by accident, during a bad thunder storm as well. Luckily nothing important got wet. - 3oaksExplorer

We do the same. Vents have Fantastic vent covers and the windows are kept closed while on the road.
I leave my roof vents open in the summer time. I also have the air/weather deflectorsbguy wrote:
How fast are you traveling to pull that hard of a vacuum?
Leaving windows and vents open will siphon your traps and give you a bad smell in the trailer........ - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerYou can, but I don't. Been there done that and got the T shirt.
Diesel soot everywhere. Dust everywhere. Tire rubber everywhere.
A trailer going down the road with it's windows open has a vacuum action. It wants to suck everything in. Not good.
Do it if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you! - _tiredTeacherExplorer IIEverything closed. Tight. That's why the Aussies developed campers for the outback that can be pressurized.
Ever see a roof billowing on an old TT? That's because the top of the TT is a low pressure area. That means a cracked or open roof vent will result in air being "sucked" out of the vent, which means that air has to be replaced from somewhere. Say, like, through the plumbing, around window gaskets, holes and cracks around wiring, etc. That air could contain exhaust fumes (as mentioned previously)and CO.
Teach - I accidentally left a window open once. What a mess. The entire inside was covered in dust. Had to wash everything including the bedding. I would never do it.
I have, however, driven with a roof vent open a little but only with a Maxxair on it. - bguyExplorerLeaving windows and vents open will siphon your traps and give you a bad smell in the trailer. It will also create extra vacuum inside possibly pulling water into hatches etc.
- the_bear_IIExplorerWe traveled on a highway with a lot of semi trucks. We left one window partially opened and when we opened the trailer a strong smell of diesel exhaust came wafting out.
Never left a window opened again. - the_happiestcamExplorerRoof vent is open - but is has Maxx Aire cover over it.
- nineoaks2004Explorermoving I close the windows but leave the bathroom vent open a little.
