If you enjoy traveling around in California I highly recommend the books by Tom Steinstra on California Camping and California Fishing. Very well written, very well organized by region, good maps, and they are updated frequently so information is accurate.
I am working on a trip to Idaho that will be one that goes to many of the wildlife management areas in the state. It has far more wild areas and wildlife than any other state in the lower 48. For wildlife one first thinks of Yellowstone and then the Grand Tetons but Idaho is often completely ignored.
