Great trip report - thanks for posting the pics and travelogue. Last year in August me and my sons spent a week 5 miles northeast of Walton Lake. There were four "stairstep" ponds up there on the side of a ridge, and we saw what we believed to be otter in one of the lakes. The road was so rough up there it took 1 hr 15 mins to travel the five miles, but so worth it. Last year it was super dusty - like a moonscape. We had deer walking into our camp while we sat around the campfire making s'mores.
