I don't believe Toyota met their original production targets. The factory they built in San Antonio was for the Tundra production only as far as I know. When sales dropped Toyota retooled a portion of that factory to produce a car to help absorb operations costs. In addition they improved their truck assembly line to make it more efficient during their production shut down due to low demand. You know Toyota and Lean Mfg both go together.
