I have figured out how people over charge their system with these kits even when they follow the directions to the letter.
The gauge on the kit is generic with its acceptable range. The problem is, a given vehicle may call for a very different range.
IN the case with this particular kit, it calls for a low side pressure of 35 to 53 PSI at 80 degrees ambient and the manual for my truck calls for 25 to 35 PSI at 80 degrees ambient.
Had I just put it in the middle, I would have badly over filled my system even though the kit's gauge proclaims it good.
So I ordered a cheap set of gauges so I can monitor the high pressure while I use the kit to fill it. This will ensure I don't over charge. I can still use the gauge on the kit but charge it only to the lower, manual spec'd value.
I hope this info is helpful to the next person.
