Truck batteries

Mine lasted 6 years on my 2012 so you may expect to replace them in a year or two, assuming that's normal lifespan.

I replaced the OE batteries on my 2015 CTD a couple of months ago but they were struggling a bit last spring. 4 years seems to be about all I get out of vehicle batteries. But they also see temperatures above 100 and below zero every year and I don't imagine that helps much in longevity.

4 to 6 years is what I have experienced on 3 different vehicles.

I camp in too many out of the way places not to replace my truck batteries when the prorated “warranty” expires.

The oem’s on my 02 F250 lasted 9 years. My 2nd set not oem’s 5 years now on my 3nd set.

For around town I would keep running them. For off-road off-grid reliability it would not be too soon to change them next year.

My 2014 ctd batteries lasted right up until that day last September that my wife needed to pick me up at the airport. I seldom fly but this was the time that it had to happen. I rented a car at the airport, bought two batteries at O'Reilly and headed home. So 5 years with mild temps, never in extreme heat or cold for long.

Yup, my 2014 Cummins 5 years ,and 8 months ,just replaced last week .

Batteries seem to last longer than they used to. I still have the factory batteries in my motorhome built in November 2012. I do plan to put new batteries in before the next trip just to be on the safe side.

Just replaced an interstate from Costco which had 42 mo. It went 43. They gave me full price on a new one but had to pa the difference because their new one went to 36 mo now and he said the battery cost them more. I didn't complain since I got $89 credit he didn't have to honor.
