Truck in sig has a ladder track and toolbox setup that has had to be modified twice over the years when I've upgraded my truck.
It's not so much the box dimensions but more importantly the width and location of the stake pockets and top rails. The top rails have changed shape many times. Every time I change a body style I have take my rack off, cut the pegs off the bottom and weld them back on in a different location.
Front of the box is wider than the back.
So canopies and other things are hard to interchange.
