Then I found the truck I wanted to upgrade to on a lot and did the same thing, comparing the 2 sets of measurements to see if it would fit or what mods I had to make if I bought that model.
Then I didn't have to rely on somebody's speculated guess opinion on whether it would fit or not.
This is probably a good route to go. I take my bed covers off all the time so measurements are easy to get. I can compare these to what my canopy salesman says and trucks I find for sale.
