Truck Camper Cover.....which one?

There is the ADCO and similar covers from RV outlets, around $200 and last about 2 years. The alternative is the Calmark cover, made to order and to fit. It will cost you about 3 times a much, and last 5 times as long. It is heavier, and therefore more difficult to remove and replace. I have owned both.

I believe a cover will keep the camper in much newer condition over time, if used diligently. It is a substantial extra step whenever you use it, and a garage or canopy is undeniably easier.

We also use a Classic Industries cover. Helps keep the filon and plastics from yellowing. Generally a lot cleaner. I don't know though if a cover made specifically for a pop top, shorter wall height?

I got mine at camping world on sale for like 50% off. Keep an eye out for the sale. I did not cover mine last year, never again. Took 8 hours to clean after a winter surrounded by trees.

I have an ADCO. It has side zippers to make it a little easier to spread out when putting it on. However, I've found them to be difficult to deploy and really unsafe to be crawling around on the roof to spread it out. I use my camper at least every 4 weeks, and finally retired the cover to the attic in the house because I just don't think it's safe to get up there with it and spread it around.
A better option is to get one of those metal carports if you have the space.

I use a Classic PolyPro 3 and am glad I do.It does a remarkable job of protecting the camper..Last year I did not cover any of my campers and paid the price..Snow that freezes then thaws then freezes again and again,really does a job on the seams and can make hair line cracks that are hard to see until it's to late.

It only takes one time for a missed hairline crack in a seam to cause major damage.I prefer to air on the safe side and cover my camper from now on.

With two people there a piece of cake to put on in just a couple of minutes and even easier taking it off..One person doing it takes longer and is a pain because I don't like going on the roof.:B

I use mine to often to worry about a cover. Plus, I've had too much experience with old units to know they don't really need to be covered. A cover is more to make the owner feel good about how they are treating their baby then any thing else.

Sure. Just buy a Sunshield tarp that is large enough to cover the top and part of the sides. Easy on and off. Hold it down with bungies or, as I do, with boat fenders (bumpers) half filled with sand. Search this Forum for Sunshield for more info.
