Now that the photo contest is over, I would just share that in many ways a Photo Contest is in fact, a popularity contest. Just like we see with our kids to vote for their kids. Some people have more friends, family and acquaintances than others. What makes a contest truly a fair contest would be two choices, a People's Choice and the actual contest winners be selected by a respected board/committee of Photographers and People in that industry. Both type of contests have their merits. What I will say about the TCM contest is that it brings an excitement to the TC community and the pleasure of sharing their own campers and locations. While some, maybe many of the photographs did not exhibit true Photography Art, but who cares, they belong to other enthusiasts, friends of ours. I am just happy that the Truck Camper Magazine provides a venue for many to exhibit their talent and their passion for Truck Campers. But, the photos that were selected, IMHO, were excellent choices. Well done to all those that participated and those that were selected!
