Truck Camper Speed

I do 55-60 also. If I'm holding back traffic, then I'll speed up till I can slow down again. If I go too slow and no one can pass safely, I find people passing unsafely and that gets me run off the road. So, pretty slow unless i hold up others.

The great thing about a TC is they don't have speed limiting trailer tires. I drive the posted speed limit or faster if traffic is flowing faster. On VA interstates that's 70 to 75 mph. The truck and camper handle great.
If I have the boat in tow I have to slow down to 65 mph because of the tires.
I do not have the luxury of endless amounts of time to get where I'm going. I work for a living and vacation time is limited.
I believe that people going 55 or 60 or whatever on interstates where the posted limit is 70 or 75 are more of a hazard than they realize. What they may not see going on behind them is all the braking and lane changing of all the traffic trying to get around them. A rolling roadblock going 15 mph slower than most other traffic isn't any less of a hazard than all the people going 10 or 15 over the limit.

Whenever possible, I try to keep up to the normal speed limit on the road I am on up to 65 mph. I try not to go above that except to pass other vehicles or if going slower than the speed limit would impede traffic. If there is no chance of impeding traffic, then I am more comfortable at 60 mph as it is easier on the rig and more fuel efficient.

58-60 mph max no matter if it's our TC or the TT or the 5th wheel or even back when we had the class A's and C's. I could care LESS how fast other's drive as I'm not going to change my driving speed period no matter where or which state I'm in or even on which Interstate etc. My driving record is clean and I haven't had an accident in my 55-1/2 years of driving other than when an ambulance lost control at high speed and clipped the front on my car when I was 16 years old and while I was stopped dead. They paid for all repairs and the ticket they received also! Gotten only 1 ticket and that was for expired plates 11 days after my birthday that I had forgotten to renew. I love my very low insurance premimum rates!

Heck, if someone wants to pass me when at 58-60 no matter what they are driving or towing? Be my guest and if they drive like a maniac, I'll gladly even slow down for them so I don't run into their overturned rig. My passengers and my life are so much more important than some idiot wanting to save a couple minutes by placing everyone else's life in danger. Obviously, his own life and his passengers lives don't mean squat to him but a couple minutes does!

I-5 in a straight line 70-75 as I am usually just covering ground at that point like the above poster. The lost mileage is worth the time saved. I am fairly light compared to some other rigs out there. Of course if you are towing it's a different story.

Spped limit on most of I-5 is 70.

Interstate = 66-68 to cover ground, 62 to save some fuel

About 60 -- if not holding up traffic.
