The newer Ram 3500 DRW have the uprated AAM 11.8" axle that some Cummins forum tech people have said is rated by AAM around 12k lbs. I've never seen or found any thing from AAM on the 11.8" ratings unlike their other axles. Maybe someone has found that info.
A trucks RAWR is the lessor of a tire/wheel/rear spring pack/axle assy.
Most DRW truck rawr weak link is the rear spring pack or OEM wheels. Axle assys and tires generally have lots of reserve above its rawr.
Any calculations from a formula of this type are a estimate at best. Actual scaled axle weights tells the real story.
