I mentioned a F350 DRW has 15990 lb of braking performance and a 21k triaxle trailer with 7k axles = 21000 lb of braking. This would give the combo 36990 lb of braking performance which will be a GCW or GCWR number.

The truck mfg may choose any GAWR or a GVWR they want. However they can't issue a GVWR higher than the sum of the axle ratings. They may also choose to sum the axle ratings for the trucks GVWR.
Why does a truck mfg do this ?? That is a point no one knows other than the vehicle mfg and always creates lots of opinions/theories.
