The fact that you had to fiddle with the radio to get it to work means you must have somehow accidentally turned to a rap station.
There is a GM TSB on radio warnings stating that if you turn to a rap station, the truck will automatically shut down not only the radio, but the entire truck. It will only give you a glimmer of starting effort. And the door locks won't work either, to prevent the doors from being opened to release this toxic noise to other campers. This is to prevent people from being offended by that horrible obnoxious noise that rap lovers call "music"
This is a terrific safety feature to prevent auditory nausea and ear damage, however, if you are not aware of it, it can be a bit frustrating to figure it out.
And the other clue is that you were at the dump station. This is by far the best place for rap music! There is a special adapter available from CW that connects the speakers to your black tank. Once the rap music has been properly disposed of via the black tank valve, then 12V will be returned to your radio. This process does involve turning a few knobs until you put it back to a real music station. Rock, Country, Classical, Jazz - anything but rap.
When they named rap they forgot the C in front of it.
I hope this clears up your issue!

Now THAT makes sense! I knew their was a reasonable answer to the problem!:D
