Yep. I am learning that campers open up a huge can of worms. Similarly, I am researching 5th wheel, TV combinations and am learning that a 3/4 ton SRW SB is inadequate for most medium sized 5th wheels.
My findings as well. I was thinking of upgrading my TV to the GMC 2500 Duramax to enable future growth in an RV, but now am looking at the 1 ton SRW & DRW for that future 5th wheel that is on the horizon.
Just to keep things simple, I have been just researching Ford for now. The more I read, the more I am becoming convinced that there really is no downside to going with a f350 over a f250. I thought the ride would be worse in a f350, but according to what I am reading that is not so.
If you're serious about towing a 5th wheel, as I read you are, by all means go with the F350 over the F250. You'll thank me!
To be sure, go with the dually F350.
That's a lot of rig to handle mister, with the puny SRW F250 - of that you can be sure. The stamina of an F350 dually with the 4.10 rear end? Well, it's like apples and oranges when you're out on the open road dueling with 80,000 pound 18-wheelers blowing you off the road. No siree Bob, no itty-bitty TV for me! Bigger is always better. Nuff said!
