Open the engine hood. See that big chunk of iron they call an 8.1? That thing is heavy! Real heavy.
Bottom line. big blocks and diesels wear out front end parts very quickly. Some of the "new" parts are not made so well either. A lot of china junk out there.
The "china junk" is what is sold by Wal-Mart and Harbor Freight and does not apply to automotive parts. The junk is based on what buyers from Wal-Mart and other places specify as they have a profit target and know that many Americans will buy based on price and not quality. Otherwise Wal-Mart would go out of business as would Harbor Freight. China makes products that are as good and in many cases better than anything currently made in the USA but they are sent to Europe and Scandinavian countries.
There are only a few Toyota vehicles and the Ford F-150 that are made using 70% US sourced parts. That's right, 30% is from overseas even with these vehicles that are at the top of the list.
I have had far more problems with my made in the USA vehicles over the past 45 years than the vehicles made in Japan or Korea. Check the recalls over the past 10 years by manufacturer. The numbers speak for themselves.
