- Grit_dogNavigator IISpeaking of Rivian, glad to hear they're getting good press.
But WHY, does the front clip have to look like it was designed by a 3rd grader with no artistic skills??
Anyone watch the preview last night for the new sit com American Auto? Looks like the car they designed on that show "in a day".... - Grit_dogNavigator II

Love the big shiny electruckial plug between the door and the Real truck bed, where you will find the second plug for rapid charging.
LOL!
Funny story, couple years ago, at a hotel on Vancouver island, the only parking was in the parking garage and the only spot left in the whole garage was also an EV charging station.
I parked our GoMango orange SRT8 in that spot and opened the gas door and "plugged it in." Left it there for 2 days. Worst part was I still only had 1/4 tank of gas in it after "charging" for that long! LOL - wanderingaimlesExplorer
- Geo_BoyExplorer III don’t know about Truck of the Year, but they are pretty impressive. Watch the Apple TV series called the Long Way Up and you can watch two Rivian’s in action.

- BumpyroadExplorerI like the trunk and pass thru but I think it also qualifies as the ugliest truck of the year.

New staff goes with whatever is trendy, whereas Angus spoke to his values & opinions, which often went against the LAGS readers...
LAGS = Latest And Greatest Syndrome, meaning lemmings following whatever is trendy at that moment...to abandon for the next LAGS thing - DurbExplorerI have subscribed to Motor Trend for years and have noticed in the past couple of years their new "trend" of vehicle worship. Lucid was the "Car of the Year" and their selection article was nothing more than a press release for Lucid. The last issue had a long article on the Rivian crossing the US on back road trails; it was gushing. The vehicles may deserve the praise, but issuing the award to a vehicle the public can't get is a little over the top.
I probably won't renew my subscription. Their long term evaluations are generally regarding screen size, digital display function, menus, and Apple Play. I firmly believe some of the reviews are from people who haven't even driven the vehicles; at least nothing is mentioned about mechanicals and driving dynamics. MT is changing directions which is probably prescient, just not for me. - I agree with Rick...
I also have to wonder how much it cost Rivian and or Lucid Air to become the vehicle of the year??? :h
not a knock because they are EV, but just because...... There are other EV's that I would pick over those 2 named
