I had 1440 lbs for carrying capacity with my 2010 F-150. After finding out what trailers DW and I liked, found out that our family and minimal gear in the truck scaled at about 700 lbs. That left me with 740 lbs for tongue weight and additional payload. Figured that wasn't going to cut it. That's why I have the truck I have today. The only half-ton that has the payload capacities for what the DW and I like is the new F-150, with packages exceeding 2,000 lbs.
